Telecine

Telecine is the ability to professionally capture, frame by frame - 16mm, 8mm, Super 8mm film formats. Greg's method is not the conventional telecine process where the film is run real-time. Greg's service is like Hollywood's RANK machines that capture each frame individually. There is no strobing or flickering seen in the final captured video and superior results are achieved.

Details: The camera used is a 3-chip industrial camera (HV-C20M) that captures all the color and density from each frame of film. A Navitar 10X lens gives sharp focus across the entire scene. Each frame is then sharpened, color corrected to remove any color cast in film, and letter-boxed so the entire film frame will show on regular televisions.

Videography

Don't own a camcorder? Have special events documented with videography by Greg J. Winter. He can tape your event with up to two 3-chip cameras and record to digital video. Sound is often overlooked, but is just as important as a good picture. You can relax and enjoy the event knowing the event is captured with the best possible sound.

Details: The camera used is a Sony VX-2000, 3-chip (CCD) that is often used on cable TV. It is equipped with a Canon 0.7X wide-angle converter. With a sensitivity of 2 lux (with gain set to zero) this camera works well indoors and even at night!

Video Editing / Production

Greg uses sound and digital visual media to tell a story. The music content, a narrative, or the video sound track can drive this story.

Details: Editing is done on a conventional PC, however all video production is monitored on a calibrated NTSC monitor. Greg is an accomplished Adobe Premiere editor. He also uses Adobe Photoshop, Adobe After Effects, Cool Edit Pro, and Cakewalk Sonar.

DVD Production

Greg can also author a DVD with multiple page menus, moving backgrounds in DVD menus, Dolby Digital surround sound, captions and closed-captioning. If you wish, video can simply be burned onto a disc to be played on a conventional DVD player.

Details: DVD Authoring is done with DVDMaestro and burned onto DVD-R media with a Pioneer AV03 burner.

Film Cleaning

If your film needs cleaning prior to being transferred to DVD, Greg can perform this service for you as well.

Scanning Service

Scanning of 35mm negatives or slides.

Details: Nikon Coolscan IV. High quality scans of negatives or slides up to 3,600 x 2,400 pixels.
